Another Tope Beginning's Story
   
    Johnathon Tope was born in Hesse, Germany.  He came to America with the British in the Revolutionary war.  He deserted at the Battle of Long Island to join the U.S. and was given a land grant near Uniontown, Pennsylvania, after the war.
    In 1812 he enlisted in the US. Inf. and was killed in 1813 in the Battle of Lunda Lane.  He and his wife had two children, Anna Marie and Levi.  His widow married John Farver.
    Levie (my great-grandfather) settled in Holmes county, Ohio.  His children were William, Rebecca, John, Caroline, Sophia, Tilla, Amanda, and Blenda.
    William Tope (my grandfather) had this family: Clarence, Cameron, Corevin (my father), Lucy, Geroge, Joseph, Verg, Della, Effie, and Harvey.
    Corevin family: John R. (me),; one sister, Ocy; and one brother, Loyd W.
