"clearings," etc. The motive
temperament predominates in the race, and their strong will-power and
minds of their
own and love of home have made them
generally successful. They are
remarkable for clean characters, as a race, and as the most of them,
scientifically
speaking, have long livers, their length
of life show them to be long livers, of
course, some of them had their superstitions, especially in the earlier
days; but you know they "came by it honestly" when you reflect for a
minute.
Such is the history of a race of
people, to which I am proud to belong. A
reunion is suggestible, but perhaps
impracticable to all; yet it might be arranged for, locally, or in
sections. At
all events, I hope to meet all personally hereafter, if not here. And
my task
has now come to
