THE TRIBE OF GEORGE -- SECOND WIFE

Chapter VI
      
    1. Barbary Tope was born March 16, 1805, presumably at Townfork, on Yellow Creek, Jefferson county, 0. This confirms our statements in Chapter I in reference to the second marriage of George Tope. She was ten years old when they moved over to Tope's Mills in 1815. She was married first to Isaac Whiteman, and they had one child, Isaac, that died early in life. Mr. Whiteman died suddenly, where Samuel Buchanan now lives, to the north of Petersburg, by taking a drink of water when he was hot. She was next married to Samuel McQueen, a farmer of near Palermo, Perry township, Carroll county 0. To them were born three children: Angeline, Minor and David. Mr. McQueen died of cancer May 28, 1875—aged 82 years, 7 months and 5 days. His wife lived on until Feb. 9, 1896, when she died at the residence of her son David-at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 23 days. She preserved a solid mind in old age. She had seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-child living. Her remains were interred by the side of those of her husband in the Tabor cemetery.
    Angeline McQueen was married to Joshua Davis May 10, 1848. They now live at Mineral Point, 0. Mr. Davis is a dentist by occupation. To them have been born nine children: Samuel A., was united in marriage Oct. 3, 1872, to Maggie J. Tripp: five children have been born to them: Clinton W., Lilhe B., Edwin H., Lula C., Ina L.: and live at Mineral Point, 0. Barbary I. was married to Wm.T. RabeOct. 1, 1874: They have three children: Angle 0., married to James C. Jones March 15, 1896; Myrtle L. and Florence P. Mary M. was married Dec. 24, 1874, to Wm. J. Andrews; to them have been born five children: Lillie B, (deceased). Grace E., married to Thomas Nordyke Sept. 15, 1895, who have one daughter, Murle; Carrie M. (deceased), Wilbur N. and Goldie H. Andrew W. was married to Jennie N. Cross June 24,1882; he is a dentist and is now mayor of Holton, Kan.; they have two children: Artie M. and Edgar C. Emma C. was married to Frank A. Stoneman June 30, 1881; they live at Mineral Point; have one child, Bertie. Samantha R. was married to
Simon Straub Feb. 3, 1884; they live at Mineral Point, 0.: have one child, Maudie 0. Florence N. (deceased), was married to Jasper S. Heavlin June 22, 1882: two children were born to them: Harry J. and Walter E.; he is a dentist at Canal Dover, 0. Louisa A. was married to James E. McNeel, a dentist of Mineral Point, Aug. 23. 1883; they have two children: Walter R. and Rollo 0. Malinda M. was married Aug. 8, 1887, to Thomas Osborn; they have two children: Angie Andrey and Emma Fay.
    As to whom Minor McQueen married we are not informed. He is a farmer of Union township, Carroll county, 0. They had five children: David M., who married Rebecca Hagey; they have three or four children whose names we do not know; he is a farmer and poultry dealer, near Bowerston. Susan, who married Milton Barlean. James, who married Dorinda Barlean, Joseph, who married Carrie Smeltz. And John Burt, still at home, unmarried.
