     The second marriage of Pheopy (Tope) Burchfield born April-16-1796 died Jan-25-1887 [was to] Joseph Burchfield April-19-1828. [He was] born March-7-1802 died March-1-1880   four children

     Of the Roof, Cahill, Pittenger, Stoneman Families I do not know if I got the children in order of birth. They are in Jessie Hurlbutt record and I am a bit confused in arrangement.

    5. Violet Burchfield died Nov-1-1958 married Oscar Haines born April-30-1863 died July-16-1932. Oscar then married Mrs. Hattie Lawler.
    Mrs. Hattie Lawler was a very talented musician, a pianist for Earl Adams Orchestra. Her first husband meet (sic) with coal mine accident that broke his back. He pal Dewey and brother Dewey (ssic) were friends of mine. Dewey was a ball player. We played in the I.O.O.F band with Wayne Hunter and others of Buckeye Band. We gave weekly concerts in Stonington, picnic and gatherings Salem Ill. She attended school in Salem Ill. She also taught music in Decatur Illinois.
    Thomas Burchfield
         The only information I can find was when Uncle Dave, Grandpa and Tom. (sic) When coming from Ohio Tom was not married stopped at Wabash River at Vincennes Indiana.
         I learned from a Mister Bierhaus that at one time his father did business with a William Burchfield whoes (sic) father was Tome Burchfield.
         William Burchfield had a variety store on corner of Fourth and Main Streets in Vincennes. This store burned some time in the 1920's. He was not sure of the exact date.

    born Aug-14-1836 died March-2-1880
         Grandpa's youngest sister came to Illinois with her parents, Joseph and Pheoby Burchfield. They lived in a house about one half quarter of a mile south of Grandpa's house. She did not marry.

         Joseph Burchfield was born in Sherrodsville, Ohio, on Dec-18- 1838, and died at home, Buckeye Prairie, onJune 13, 1922. Joseph and Martha Price were united in Holy Marriage at the home of bride's parents, Benjamine (sic) and Elizebath (sic) Price on Jan-2-1868 by Mr. Reverend Garrett. Martha was born April-10-1849 in Sherrodsville, Ohio, and died at home on Feb-9-1929.

    2. James Albert born Mardh-12-1871 in Illinois, died May-25-1940. James and Cora Walcher were united in Holy Matrimony at the home of bride's sister, Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Bartow, 6th ∓ Chestnut Sts., Pana, Illinois on April-3-1895 by Reverend J.C. McGiffin. Cora was born Oct-17-1874 and died May-8-1964 in the Methodist Home, Lawrence Ville, Illinois.
    3. Clara Elestine born Jan-18-1873 in Illinois, died Jan-19-1948. Clara and William Settle were united in Holy Matrimony at the home of the bride's parens, Joseph and Martha Burchfield on Feb-24-1897 by Rev. A.J. Ives. William died Nov-3-1909 in Grandpa's home on Buckeye Prairie, Owan Co., Illinois.
    4. Amy Alice born May-25-1875 in Illinois, died Feb-23-1907. Amy and Clark Bowersock were unied in Holy Matrimony at the home of the groom's sister, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Shetler, one half mile east of Owaneco, Illinois on March-14-1900 by Rev. P.P. Carson. Clark was born Mar-31-1874, died July-4-1919 at home, west of Mowequa, Illinois.
    5. Lula Belle born Jan-26-1878 in Illinois, died Sept-1-1956. Lula Belle and Charles Bowersock were united In Holy Matrimony at the home of bride's parents, Joseph and Martha Burchfield, on Buckeye Prairie on Feb-20-1902 by Baptist preacher from Old Stonington Baptist Church, Rev. G.E. Milford. Charles was born Mar-18-1877, died May-9-1948 at home in Pana, Illinois.
    6. Laura Elizebeth born July-1-1880 in Illinois, died July-7-1968. Lauran and John Graden Kirkbride united in Holy Matrimony at home of bride's parents, Joseph and Martha Burchfield on Feb-24-1904, 8 p.m. by Rev. M.N. English. John was born Dec-25-1878, died Jan-3-1946 at Pana Huber Hospital, Pana, Illinois.
    7. Phebe Jane (Jennie) born May-2-1883 in Illinois, died date unknown. Phebe and Peter Edward Mangers were united in Holy Matrimony at the Christian Church, Taylorville, Illinois, on Aug-2-1905 by the Reverend Quinclieus Moore. Peter was born Aug-27-1875 in Morrisonville, Illinois and died Dec-24-1963.

    9. Arthur Joseph born July-30-1887 at home in Buckeye Praire, Illinois, died Sept-24-1887 in White Hall, Illinois. Arthur and Alma O'Brine were united in Holy Matrimony at the groom's parents, Joseph and Martha Burchfieldon Buckeye Prairie, on Feb-23-1910 by Rev. Strattion of Owaneco Methodist Church.
    10. Elsie Pearl born Oct-7-1890 in Illinois, died date unknown. Elsie and Raymond A. Porter were united in Holy Matrimony at home of bride's sister, Peter and Jennie Mangers, 805 North Mercer Street, Decatur, Illinois on June-13-1912 by Rev. E. W. Allen, Pastor of Central Church of Christ.
